Olympics: Ipswich Torch Bearers Wanted

The London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games are looking for 8,000 truly inspirational people from the UK to carry the Olympic Flame next year and need you to help find some of them in Ipswich.

Do you know someone truly inspirational? This is your chance to give them their moment to shine. You have until 11.59pm on 29th June to nominate them to be a London 2012 Olympic Torchbearer… and don’t forget, you can nominate more than one person.

The Olympic Torch Relay will visit Ipswich on July 5th 2012 where an evening celebration event will be held, before the torch departs town the next morning. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for local residents to be a part of a truly amazing global event.

Do you know someone who:

·       Has inspired you to do something you never thought possible?

·       Always tries to be the best they can be?

·       Makes a real difference in their school or local community?

·       Has shown what it means to be a real friend?

·      Shows respect for other people and knows the importance of fair play?

Torchbearers must be over 12 years old and half of the torchbearers will be between the ages of 12 and 24. Judging panels will be set up in each region to select the Torchbearers for their area.

You can visit http://www.london2012.com/olympic-torch-relay to see the type of person being looked for, see what they will experience and nominate your choice.
