Kesgrave Music Festival Success

This year’s Kesgrave Music Festival, in memory of Kate Moyes, fell on Kate’s birthday and it was fitting that this festival proved to be the most successful and well attended to date. The fantastic weather finally broke through in the afternoon and over 4,000 people enjoyed the day, staged in memory of a dear friend, in glorious sunshine followed by a beautiful summers evening. The calibre of performer this year was fantastically high as usual with some of the best bands to date.

The donation to St. Elizabeth hospice this year (over £11,000) will bring our total donations to over £81,000 in 6 years which is a truly fantastic achievement. We will also be donating to the East Anglian Air Ambulance this year – another truly worthy local organisation and our chosen second charity for 2011.

The committee, a group of Kate’s friends and family, would like to thank everyone who attended and helped us smash all previous attendance figures. Thanks go to the press and radio stations who promote us, the volunteers who help on the day, the bands and performers who give us their time free of charge and to the sponsors who help us to fund the event. We must not forget too that the KMF committee, small as it is, work year round to stage the event so thanks has to go to them for their hard work and commitment.

So now the work starts on organising KMF 2012 which we hope will be as successful. We are always in need of volunteers and helpers in all aspects of the organising and running of the festival so if you would like to help, in any small way, please do get in contact through the website www.kegravemusicfestival.com
