Theatre in Forest 2012 Announced

Red Rose Chain Film and Theatre Company has announced that it is to present Shakespeare’s King Lear, directed by Joanna Carrick, as you’ve never seen it before as part of it’s popular annual “Theatre in the Forest”.

From 24th July – 26th August 2012, the award winning Red Rose Chain will stage the thirteenth annual Theatre in the Forest in the picturesque and enchanting heart of Rendlesham Forest, near Woodbridge.
Red Rose Chain’s epic King Lear is set to be filled to the brim with everything audiences have come to expect from this award-winning company. Bursting with music, dance, comedy, tragedy and puppets, King Lear will be a great show for all the family. Amidst the magic of Rendlesham Forest, King Lear will exude a real fairy tale feel throughout.

Theatre in the Forest regular, Edward Day is set to take on the challenge of his career in the title role. Currently studying Clowning at the renowned LeCoq School in Paris, Day is set to give a unique and spellbinding performance as King Lear, following his hilarious Malvolio in 2011.

Theatre in the Forest has grown from a single weekend to now performing 25 shows across the summer. Performing to over 10,000 audience members this summer alone, Theatre in the Forest has become the biggest cultural event in the East of England.

Producer David Newborn said:
“2012 is set to be an incredible year for Theatre in the Forest. More people than ever before will experience the magic of watching Shakespeare in the open air, just as it was intended. It’s a very exciting time for Red Rose Chain and King Lear will capture the hearts of our audience.”

The Box Office opens on Thursday 1st December at 10am. Tickets can be purchased from Red Rose Chain’s Box Office on: 01473 603388 or from the website: www.theatreintheforest.com
