Ipswich Santa Run

Local cab company All The Fours Cabs have signed up to sponsor this year’s Santa Run in aid of EACH. Drivers and staff will be joining hundreds of Santas who will descend upon The Waterfront in Ipswich on Sunday 11th December 2011, when they take part in the Santa Run in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

The annual event was moved to The Waterfront last year and proved so successful that organisers have decided to return again this year. Many of the runner’s families, friends and work colleagues came along to watch the event and cheer them on. The event raises funds for EACH, which provides care and support to local life-threatened children across Suffolk and the rest of East Anglia.

Last year’s Ipswich Santa Run saw more than 400 running; jogging and walking Santa’s dressed in their Santa suits and raising over £20,000 for the Treehouse Hospice.

Raf Miah from All The Four Cabs said, “We wanted to support a local charity, and asked our drivers who they would like to support, EACH was on top of the list. We are also supporting them from now until the New Year, this includes our busy time over Christmas. For everyone who books one of our cabs and quotes EACH we will donate 10p from every fare.”

Patsy Johnson-Cisse said, “Having All Four Cabs onboard and sponsoring the Santa Run means all money raised will go towards helping our children and families.

“I have used the taxi service twice recently and having 10p from each fare come back to the EACH is a bonus. So many people will be using cabs and the donation from each fare could amount to a very large donation from Raf and All The Fours Cabs. Don’t forget to quote children’s hospice when you book.”
The route for the Santa Run is 2.5km and goes all the way around the Waterfront starting and finishing at Dance East who have helped EACH with organising this event.

Patsy Johnson-Cisse, EACH Fundraiser, said, “The Ipswich Santa Run is always great fun and is suitable for all ages and even well-behaved dogs on leads! The route is wheelchair and pushchair accessible so there really is no excuse not to take part.

“EACH supports a number of families in Ipswich and surrounding areas – so take part in the Santa Run this year and raise funds to support life-threatened children and their families in your community.
“Don your Santa suit and show EACH you care this Christmas.”
