Campaign to Save The Spa – Have Your Say

Local people and Amateur Dramatic Groups have voiced their anger at the possible closure of Felixstowe’s Spa Theatre.

Earlier this week Suffolk Coastal Council who own the Spa Pavilion announced that they were withdrawing their funding of the venue. Currently they pay Openwide Coastal to manage the day-to-day running of the theatre, however this will cease in June 2012.

Thereafter the future of the venue seems uncertain. The Council have said that they are open to suggestions from interested parties, however the venue will need a substantial investment.

Suzie Lowe of the Dennis Lowe Theatre Group is behind a “Save The Spa” campaign who immediately are launching a petition to keep the theatre open. You can sign the petition from midday on Saturday 17th December at The Spa throughout the run of the annual pantomime. The group can also be found on Facebook and supporters are urged to join the group online»
