Ipswich Hospital restricts visitors

All ward visiting at the Ipswich Hospital is being restricted today (Friday 24th Feb) because there are a number of patients throughout the wards with sickness and diarrhoea.

This is not a blanket visiting ban and every request for visiting will be considered on an individual basis.

The message is that anybody wanting to visit needs to ring the ward before they set out.

Siobhan Jordan, Director of Nursing and Quality/Infection Prevention and Control, said “We recognise the huge value visitors bring to patients and this decision has been made after a great deal of consideration.”

Restrictions will be reviewed daily but is likely to be in place over the weekend.

The Maternity wards, Bergholt childrens ward and Somersham cancer ward are exempt.

The numbers to ring to contact the wards are:

Claydon 01473 702300

Debenham 01473 702313

Kesgrave 01473 702710

Needham 01473 702231
