Gecko bring Missing to Wolsey

Gecko is celebrating ten years as one of the country’s top physical theatre companies. You might have seen their last show THE OVERCOAT (which has just finished two years of touring to critical acclaim worldwide) at the New Wolsey in Ipswich back in 2009 or previously THE RACE or THE ARAB AND THE JEW.

Gecko has been an Associate Company of the New Wolsey based in Ipswich since 2008 and they are very excited to invite you to see MISSING, a brand new show devised by Gecko’s Artistic Director Amit Lahav and a company of talented performers, designers and musicians.

The imagination of Gecko is limitless and in MISSING we discover Lily, harassed by her everyday life, she begins to realise her soul is slowly disappearing. We enter a deliciously warped Gecko world, where memory invades reality and the past becomes the future. It’s disturbing like David Lynch, yet beautiful like Cinema Paradiso.

Music plays a vital role in every Gecko and here is no exception, with Gecko regular Dave Price composing a whole score and soundscape for the visceral and vibrant movement and dance in the show. Dave works with a whole range of artists including Regina Spektor and Aqualung. He recently composed music for the RSC’s Measure for Measure.
