Get fit with hockey

Have fun and Get fit by getting ‘Back to Hockey’ with Felixstowe Hockey Club

Felixstowe Hockey Club will be running a series of free sessions over the summer in order to get as many ladies in the area ‘Back to Hockey’ as possible.

The Club has been granted a pot of funding by England Hockey to run the ‘back to hockey’ campaign which will involve 8 free sessions of hockey with a qualified coach.

The sessions are free and will run every Monday from 21st May for 8 weeks on the astro turf at Maidstone Campus in Felixstowe.

The sessions are open to everyone, no matter what your age or your skill level. The Club already has one ladies team established in the Suffolk league but the aim of the campaign is to attract enough new ladies players to register a second team in next year’s league.

Christine Pittaccio, captain of the ladies 1st X1 said: “We’d love to see as many ladies as possible come along to the sessions. They will be lots of fun, a great way of getting fit and meeting new people. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never played before or if you used to play and would like to get back into it – everyone is welcome. Please give it a go and come to our first session, you may love it!”
