New store for Age UK in Ipswich

Age UK Suffolk will be opening a second-hand furniture shop in Ipswich on Wednesday 30th May. The shop will be situated within the former Co-op Department Store at 48-68 Carr Street and will open its doors to the public at 9.00am.

Ursula Austin, Business Development Manager of Age UK Suffolk said: “In today’s economic climate charities such as ours need to find alternative ways to generate income. We are in a very fortunate position to have found a partner in the East of England Co-operative Society. This will be a new & exciting venture for us, which we hope will be enthusiastically supported by the community in helping us to provide much needed services for our ever increasing older population.”

Age UK Suffolk is asking for good quality donations of:

• Sofas and suites (with fire labels attached)
• Display/storage units
• Tables and chairs
• Beds and bedroom furniture
• Rugs, curtains and other soft furnishings
• Small electrical items and lighting
• Books, CDs and DVDs

Shop opening hours:Monday to Saturday 9:30 – 16:30
