Company of Four in Toast to the Queen

The Company of Four, ready to toast the Queen

A Song and Dance Spectacular to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen

The Company of Four Musical Theatre Society is arguably one of the most talented Amateur Theatre Companies in the area. The company were thrilled when they recently won the award for best Regional Pantomime from Noda for their production of Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs from 2011. The Company also won Best Program for their summer production of Lionel Barts, Blitz! that same year. Although the award was given through very stiff competition Producers and Directors Paul Leech and Mike Brown said, “It’s a real credit to the Company as a whole and we were thrilled to bits with everyone’s hard work during the performances”

That same award winning production team are behind the company’s forthcoming production – A Toast Unto her Majesty.
Mike Brown said, “We believe that the Company of Four will be the only Amateur Musical Theatre Society in the area to be celebrating Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a full scale Song and dance spectacular. Mike went onto say that, “We did invite the Queen to see our production and we received a very nice letter back from Buckingham Palace from the Queen’s personal diary secretary saying that whilst Her Majesty is unable to attend due to other commitments that The Queen sent her best wishes for all those concerned for a most enjoyable and successful occasion”

Commencing with the 1950’s the Company of Four will be singing and dancing their way through every decade of her reign, to what was, some of the most popular music of the day.

The decades will be linked by script, which will bring back memories, make you smile and perhaps make you feel a touch melancholic.

There are guest appearances by some of the Company’s favourite “veterans” who are complementing a cast of over seventy.
The show will be performed at The Riverside Theatre, Woodbridge in June and the Spa Pavilion Theatre, Felixstowe in July. Joint producer Paul Leech urged audiences to, “Come along and wave your flags, put up the bunting and sing along to the songs, to help us celebrate this unique occasion in honour of this amazing, gracious lady – Her Majesty The Queen”
A Toast Unto Her Majesty will be at the Riverside Theatre, Woodbridge from Tuesday 19th until Saturday 23rd June and then at the Spa Pavilion Theatre, Felixstowe on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th July. Tickets are available now by calling the box office: Woodbridge on 01394 382174 and Felixstowe 01394 282126.
