The New Wolsey Theatre’s rock ‘n’ roll panto, Sleeping Beauty by Peter Rowe, opens tomorrow, 22 November, and over 85% of tickets for the 83 performance run have already been sold. But there are still 5,000 tickets available, a fact which the New Wolsey is keen to communicate.
Stephen Skrypec, New Wolsey Sales and Programme Manager;
“We are taking calls every day from hopefully customers who hesitantly ask if there is any availability. We need to advise those who have yet to book that it’s not too late. Don’t despair. You may not be able to get your first choice of date or time but you can certainly still get tickets.”
The New Wolsey presented its first rock ‘n’ roll panto in 2001 with only 48 performances. Since then the schedule has been extended again and again and clearly it’s a party no one wants to miss.
Sarah Holmes, New Wolsey Chief Executive;
“It’s a formula that works. It also works for all ages and is as popular with family groups as it is with adults. It’s a wonderful time of year for the New Wolsey and for the cast who relish the opportunity to pay to full houses for two months and work hard to give audiences the time of their lives. I’m very proud of the quality for our panto productions and pleased that audiences appreciate that and know they can reply on us producing another great show.”
The New Wolsey also presents a Christmas shows for ages 3+. This year it’s The Magician’s Daughter by Little Angle Theatre which plays at New Wolsey Studio from 4 December to 5 January.
