Warning of distraction thefts

Police are making enquiries to trace women who are believed to have been involved in three crimes on Monday 10 December.

Between around 4pm and 5pm two women have entered three shops in Framlingham and Woodbridge, distracted staff and stolen two iPhones and cash.

The first incident happened on Well Close Square in Framlingham when the women entered a shop and stole a black Apple iPhone from a till area after distracting a staff member by knocking over a display area.

The offenders are described as two women with a dark complexion, long dark hair, wearing dark coats and jeans they both wore makeup and spoke with foreign accents. One appeared to be in her early twenties and the other in her late teens.

The second incident happened in the Thoroughfare, Woodbridge, a shop was entered, a staff member was distracted and cash was stolen from a cash box under the counter. The offenders are described as wearing black coats and one of them was carrying a shiny platinum coloured handbag.

The third incident happened in a shop on Quay Street, Woodbridge. A private area in the shop was entered and a white Apple iPhone was stolen. The offenders are described as both wearing black coats, one wore a red scarf and one of them had long hair in a ponytail.

Anyone with information about the incidents or the women involved is asked to contact the Woodbridge and District Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101.
