Tennis – more than just a summer game

Tennis players can hone their skills and play new people by entering the Christchurch Park Singles Tennis League. New players are always encouraged where they can enjoy free use of Ipswich Borough Council’s tennis courts in picturesque Christchurch Park.

Set up by not-for-profit organisation Local Tennis Leagues and affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association, the sporting challenge is open to adults of all standards. Players are grouped by ability and have eight weeks, (4th March 4 to 28th April), to play a maximum of seven matches, which they arrange themselves at a time to suit.

There are prizes and lots of benefits: everyone who enters can get free British Tennis Membership (worth £25) and all those completing three matches by the half-way point receive a free can of balls.

Entry is just £12 (£10 students) by 28th February at www.localtennisleagues.com/ipswich/joinnow
