Swing into Spring at DanceHouse

This March get movin’ with DanceEast. There are two great events coming up at the Jerwood DanceHouse on the Ipswich Waterfront.

On Saturday 9th March there is a special Mother and Daughter workshop just in time for Mother’s Day. Inspired by the film and West End smash ‘Legally Blonde, this fun workshop will be a great way to celebrate Mothers Day. The workshops runs from 2pm – 4pm and is only £12 for two people. (suitable for 7+).

Coming up later in the month DanceEast is hosting it’s first Swing Night with Cal’donias Swing Dance Society and house DJ Andy Clark plus guest DJ AV8 on Friday 22nd March. Be taught the moves of vintage swing set to authentic music from the 30s and 40s. Led by dancers Andy Clark and Daisy Robinson from Cal’donias Swing Dance Society who in turn learnt their techniques from some of the finest teachers and jitterbug champions from across the USA, UK and Europe.

Take this opportunity to jive, charleston and lindy hop along with their fun and eclectic approach to vintage dance whilst enjoying the musical offerings from guest DJ AV8. Beginners class starts from 6pm, improvers at 7pm and then the social dance from 8pm. Suitable for 18+, the evening costs £12 for the class and party. The danceeats! cafe will also be open for drinks and snacks.
