Woodbridge Carnival set to return

Woodbridge carnival will be taking place on the 6th July 2013. After a 30-year absence, a new committee has been formed as a off shoot to the already successful choose Woodbridge town committee.

Woodbridge residents deserve a good old fashioned carnival for the generous support they give all the local shops all year round, and it is hoped that all the businesses in and around Woodbridge will give this their full support. The newly formed committee are appealing to any organisations, business, dance troops, bands etc to come on board and either have a float or do something in the main arena which will be held on Kingston field for the afternoon of the 6th July.

Organisers are also looking for side shows and stalls and would be grateful if anyone could help them out with the hire or donation of old fashioned fair ground games like coconut shy, bowling for a pig, darts, etc. They are also looking for a carnival queen and application forms are available from most shops in Woodbridge. There will also be a tug of war competition and again forms available in the shops.

Also, if anyone would like to volunteer to help on the day the committee would be grateful to hear from you, or maybe you could donate a draw prize or even sponsor a race?

You can find full details of the Woodbridge Carnival on the “choose woodbridge” website or email grahamshemmings@yahoo.co.uk.
