Review: Inspector Norse

Comedy duo LipService (Maggie Fox and Sue Ryding) have returned to the New Wolsey Theatre with their latest offering, Inspector Norse – A self-assembly Swedish crime thriller.

norseIt’s mid-winter and Ex-pop star recluse Freya looks out of her log cabin at a rural Scandinavian winter scene, as a Nordic stranger walks across the frozen mountains. Days later a body is found in Freya’s barn… Who is this murder victim? And who would want them dead?

That’s where Inspector Sandra Lasson comes in with her unique approach to crime fighting and her rustic knitwear. Will we ever discover who the killer is? What motive they have? What happens if moose eat rotten apples? And who is it that keeps calling Sandra’s mobile? If fact, will we ever find out what the plot is all about?

Inspector Norse had the audience laughing from, well before the show began… As the set is still being constructed with the help of a few audience members, typical flat pack instructions and a knitted spanner! This imaginative performance teaches the audience of the dangers of Nordic walking, why you should beware of the odd moose in the road, the Nordic Celebration of Walpurgis Night, plus, you will witness ‘probably’ Suffolk’s first ever knitted firework display all with the backdrop of the most amazing knitted set!

With many Scandinavian references and brilliant comic timing this fast paced show had the audience it fits of laughter throughout the performance. This bonkers feel good show really is a must see.

And, don’t forget to make your Sporkla before the show…
