Teenage Girl approached in Kesgrave

Police are appealing for a man to come forward after he approached a teenage girl in Fentons Way, Kesgrave, around 12.15pm yesterday, Sunday 27 October.

The girl was standing close to the junction with Stewart Young Grove when a truck type vehicle pulled up alongside her and the man asked her if she wanted to get in.

The teenager took a few steps back and the vehicle then drove off before turning around and heading back towards where she was standing. The teenager decided to go to a property nearby where she knew someone and there was no further contact between her and the driver.

Although there may be an innocent explanation for the incident police need to trace the driver of the vehicle – described as a white flat-bed truck-type with a cage on the back – and are asking him to come forward.

He is described as being of mixed race, of medium build, with light blue or grey eyes and close cropped dark hair and was wearing a grey top.

Anyone with information about who the man is should call PC 249 Barker by calling Suffolk Police on 101.
