Half term at the museums

Get along and get creative at the Colchester & Ipswich Museums during the February half-term holidays.

At the Natural History Museum, Colchester, you can create your very own Sock Puppets at various sessions that will be held during the week of 18th until 21st February. Or if you fancy getting your hands dirty, why not pop along to make Roman Circus Oil Lamps from clay at Hollytrees, Colchester. Sessions costs per person are £2 for Sock Puppets and £3 for the Roman Oil Lamps.
Meanwhile over at Ipswich Museum the animals are back. UNLOCKED: Unleashed! presents animals from around the globe and shows will be on throughout the week of 18th until 21st February. The session cost £3 per person and booking is essential. Be quick though because these events fill up very quickly!

Over at the Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich, visitors can eavesdrop on Anna Cook at What the Housemaid Heard. All the family will enjoy hearing about the mansion’s Victorian past as Anna shares stories about her colleagues, friends and masters. Sessions will be on 19th and 20th February and cost £2 per person.

If you’re looking for something creative, why not go along to the Papier-mache Toadstools making sessions at Ipswich Art School on the 20th and 21st February. Booking is essential for this event and it will be run over two days and cost £5 per person.
