New Bin Collections for Ipswich

New bin collections are being introduced in Ipswich from next week and most homes will be affected.

From 1st April there will be no collections on Mondays: all will be carried out on Tuesdays (north-west Ipswich), Wednesdays (north-east), Thursdays (south-east) and Fridays (south-west).

binThere might also be changes about which bins you need to put out for collection each week by the new time of 6am.

The new collections will make it easier for residents as there will be fewer changes at bank holidays. In future there will only be changes to collections over Christmas and New Year.

And the bins will be collected as normal on Good Friday (18th April).

In addition, the new arrangements will allow the Borough Council to deliver a more efficient andcost-effective service. The new collections scheme will save £160,000 in the first year.

You can find out more information about how the changes might affect you by going to www.ipswich.gov.uk/binchanges.

You could find that there ismore than a fortnight between your existing and your new black bin collection. The Council will collect up to three plastic bags of general rubbish placed next to the black bin during the first fortnight of the new scheme.
