Robbery in Gippeswyk Park, Ipswich

Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Ipswich.

The incident happened in the middle of Gippeswyk Park in Ancaster Road between 11.30pm on Sunday 22 June and 12.30am on Monday 23 June.

suffolk2Three men approached the two male victims who were sitting on the swings and one of them began speaking to them. The men then searched the victims, who were threatened and assaulted, and their property taken.

An amount of cash, a Samsung mobile phone and the black Nike Air trainers one of the victims was wearing were stolen. A rucksack and trainers the other victim was wearing were also stolen.

All three men were described as white and aged in their late thirties.

The first man is also described as approximately 5’11” tall, of a medium build, had brown short messy hair, a full beard and was wearing a black zip up puffa jacket.

The second man is described as approximately 5’9” tall, of a slim build, had long brown hair tied back in a ponytail, which was also shaved at the sides and was wearing a black coloured puffa jacket with a camouflage baseball cap.

The third man is described as approximately 5’6” tall, of a stocky build and was wearing a white coloured puffa jacket.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious, witnessed the incident or recognises any of the men described are asked to contact Ipswich Priority Crime Team on 101 quoting either IW/14/2107 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
