Cycle fans should not miss this big weekend!

Bike fans rejoice! The Ipswich Cycling Weekend is back for its second year and there is something for every cyclist, from novice to pro.

The weekend kicks off on 30th August with the Crafted Classique, following the popularity of last year’s coastal sportive. Riders can challenge themselves to cycle either 100km for 100 miles through the stunning Suffolk countryside and there will be delicious refreshments – coffee, hog roast and local beer – for those who enter. So, book now!

skyrideOn 31st August, the day kicks off with the Ipswich Coastal Grand Prix where spectators can cheer on Britain’s top elite cyclists as they start the 200km race. A highlight of the British Cycling calendar, the race begins and ends on Ipswich Waterfront. Make sure to return to the Waterfront in the evening to find out which cyclist and team is victorious. This race will be filmed on Eurosport.

If you feel a bit jealous watching the pros set off from the Waterfront, never fear, you can bring your family and friends for a great day out exploring traffic free routes you can’t usually cycle as part of the Sky Ride. There will be lots to do both on and off the bike, with cyclists of all ages and abilities taking over the town centre from activation points throughout the town and activities on the Corn Hill.

Whether you are a beginner or an elite cyclist, make sure to get involved with the jewel in Ipswich’s summer sporting crown!
