New Wolsey Panto Cast Announced

The New Wolsey Theatre are pleased as ever to announce the full cast for Beauty And The Beast – The Rock’n’Roll Panto, running from Thursday 27th November until Saturday 31st January 2015.

This year’s cast of talented actor-musicians feature some familiar faces from previous New Wolsey Theatre shows, tours and pantomimes. These include: Esther Biddle (Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum); Daniel Carter Hope (Dick Whittington); Nicola Bryan (Our House UK Tour, Jack and the Beanstalk); Ben Goffe (The Threepenny Opera UK Tour), and Adam Langstaff (Our House UK Tour, Miss Nightingale).

Coming back this year after a heart-warming proposal during last year’s panto are Dan de Cruz who will be playing the Beast/Prince Promising, and Sarah Mahony who will be playing one of Beauty’s sisters, Luxury.

New to the team this year are recent graduates to the industry – Lucy Wells who will be playing Beauty, and Matt Jopling as Desperate Dan.

This year’s Dame will be played by Eamonn Fleming who has recently played Reg and Brian in The Full Monty which enjoyed a sell out successful National Tour and a short run at The Noel Coward Theatre, where it was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best New Comedy.

Originally written by Artistic Director Peter Rowe, and directed this year by Associate Director Rob Salmon, it’s time to Get This Party Started as Prince Promising is about to be crowned his country’s rightful King – there’s only one tiny problem, he needs to find his Beauty. After a Wicked Witch transforms the handsome Prince into a hideous Beast, he needs to Keep On Runnin’ until he finds Somebody To Love.

Meanwhile Beauty, who is under the thumb of her two sisters down on Dame Bronwyn’s Suffolk farm, is keen to prove You Can’t Hurry Love. After saving her father from the clutches of the mysterious creature that lives in the castle, will she ever end up Dancing In The Moonlight?

Join Fairy Fortunate and company as they bring you Beauty and the Beast – transformed into one of the New Wolsey Theatre’s irresistible rock ‘n’ roll pantomimes! A beautiful traditional story married to some monster rock, pop and soul songs all served up by our brilliant company of actor-musicians.
