Christmas Bin Collections

Don’t forget bin changes

Don’t have a bleak midwinter – get your bins out on the right day over the Christmas break.

binThat is the message to Ipswich residents as the Borough’s bin men prepare for their festive rotas.

“We’ve got 60,000 homes to cover and as Christmas is on a Thursday it means a bit of a change around,” said Waste Services Manager Debbie Reeve. “Our new four-day round system copes with other bank holidays but, like everyone else, we have to move some collection days forwards – and some backwards. Crews will be out next Monday 22nd December, and that week before Christmas your bin will be emptied a day early.”

The easiest way to ensure you don’t miss a collection is to go online to www.ipswich.gov.uk/bins and put in your street name to the search facility.

“And please put your bin out before 6am: our crews are up early, even at Christmas!” added Debbie.

So, whether you are Carol from Holly Road or Noel from Emmanuel Close – make sure you don’t miss out, and remember you can recycle even more this Christmas.
