Following two sell out performances at the Mercury Theatre last year, BalletBoyz theTalent return to Colchester with their brand new tour.
Under the direction of former Royal Ballet dancers Michael Nunn OBE and William Trevitt OBE, theTalent has become one of the hottest dance tickets around, boasting rave reviews and sell-out performances around the world.
This show features two new commissions from leading British choreographers – The Murmuring by Alexander Whitley and Mesmerics by Christopher Wheeldon.
William Trevitt said:
“The Murmuring is a really interesting piece with a very well crafted, meticulous and moving structure to it; abstract, yet not…”
Mesmerics is a piece Nunn and Trevitt created with Christopher Wheeldon in 2004 for three men and two women. Christopher has re-worked the piece and recreated it for eight of theTalent’s dancers.
Michael Nunn said:
“We’ve always loved the piece. The music is a gorgeous score by Philip Glass. We knew it wouldn’t work in the old format because there’s a lot of pointe work and traditional partnering, so Chris has re-invented it and we’ve worked with him in tiny moments through his busy schedule.”
Performed by the incredible all male cast of 10 dancers, theTalent promises to be an evening of style excitement and muscular grace.
BalletBoyz theTalent will play at the Mercury Theatre from Thursday 21 until Saturday, May 23. Tickets start at £10.
