New Mayor for Woodbridge

At the AGM of Woodbridge Town Council on Tuesday 19th May 2015, Councillor Josh Sayles was elected Mayor of Woodbridge for the Civic Year 2015-16.

Born in 1973 in Yorkshire, Josh moved first to East Anglia in 1991 to read law at UEA Norwich, from where he graduated with honours in 1995. In addition to picking up a degree Josh also came away from law school with a significant other, Victoria, whom he later married in St Mary’s church Woodbridge in the summer of 2007.
Having moved to London after graduation to work in the contracts department of a major telecoms company, Josh left within two years to found his own niche telecoms company in 2008. Since which, Josh has founded and sold several companies, in the tech sector, whilst moving further out of London, via East Bergholt, to Woodbridge where he now lives with his wife and 3 children.

Josh is currently managing partner of York Green Renewables Group based in Levington, which develops substantial wind turbine projects and solar assets for large business.

Josh has chosen to support two charities in his mayoral year: The Woodbridge Soldiers Fund and Just42 as both charities are allied to Josh’s aim of promoting the interests of younger people, working to ensure they have the facilities and outlook they need, encouraging them to develop their potential and to get involved and in the case if the soldiers, giving thanks, respect and support to our young people when they do give of themselves, often having put themselves in harm’s way.

The Deputy Mayor for the Civic Year 2015/16 is Councillor Lady Caroline Blois.
