Enjoy live music on the river during July

If you enjoy live music then Orwell Lady probably has something for you this July.

orwellLadyOn Saturday 4th July, local Jazz/Blues band Speakeasy will play Rhythm and Blues, Folk on the Water takes place on Friday 10th July with Silbury Hill and Nat King Cole tribute act Mark Anthony will mark fifty years since the passing of the star with iconic songs such as Mona Lisa, Straighten Up and Fly Right and, of course, Unforgettable.

All cruises sail from Orwell Quay at 7.30pm and return three and a half hours later having passed through the locks, under the Orwell Bridge and along the beautiful river to the Stour estuary. There is no better way to spend a summer evening than cruising along the water listening to music, eating good food and taking in the sights and sounds of the river – from the natural stretches of woodland to the UK’s busiest container port at Felixstowe.

Tickets for each of these nights are £35 and include a two-course buffet. There is a licensed bar onboard with plenty of room to dance and socialise, whilst the upper deck is seated allowing panoramic views of the river.

The Orwell Lady Nights programme also includes an Old School disco on Saturday 18th July (tickets £33.50 for cruise and buffet) and the public return cruises to Harwich Harbour, Pin Mill and Orwell Bridge take place most Wednesdays and over each weekend, in addition to English Afternoon Tea trips on Thursdays and Sunday buffet lunch cruises.

Tickets for all Orwell Lady cruises are available from Ipswich Tourist Information Centre in town (01473 258070, tourist@suffolkgov.uk) or CoffeeLink on the waterfront.
