CCTV appeal after phone theft in town

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak with in connection with the theft of a mobile phone from a restaurant in Ipswich.

cctvsuffolkphonetheftThe incident happened in Edith Cook Way at approximately 2.45pm on Tuesday 28th July.

Whilst in the restaurant a man had approached a woman sitting a table and showed her some greeting cards. She replied that she was not interested and he then lowered the cards towards the table. She again replied ‘no’ and the man left quickly walking towards the door.

The victim then realised that her mobile phone which was sitting on the table was gone.

The offender is described as having a ‘dark or tanned complexion’, between 35 to 40-years-old, approximately 5’8” tall, of a slim build, had short dark coloured hair and was wearing a t-shirt and blue jeans.
