Gippeswyk Singers, conducted by Geoff Lavery, have returned from a successful concert tour to Yorkshire this summer performing in Harrogate and York including the magical experience of singing in the glorious acoustic of Fountains Abbey on a beautiful summer day.
Back home in Ipswich, rehearsals are now in full swing for what will be a very popular New Year Concert in January with Martlesham Brass, hitting all the right notes for the festive season.
THEN, Gippeswyk Singers are hugely excited to be performing their SNAPE MALTINGS CONCERT HALL debut in May, singing “The Dream of Gerontius” which is considered to be Elgar’s finest choral work. The Singers will be joined by the Beccles Choral Society, the Lambeth Orchestra and professional soloists for this special event, conducted by Geoff Lavery, who is the highly esteemed musical director of both choirs. Tickets are already on sale, available from choir members. The choir is also seeking sponsorship for this performance from individuals and businesses interested in supporting Local Community Arts.
Gippeswyk Singers are a highly accomplished chamber choir and perform regularly in Suffolk, leaving audiences delighted with the beauty and joy of their music, as well as supporting local charities with their concerts. Please visit our website for more info: www.gippeswyksingers.co.uk
