Five intrepid bike riders will be cycling the length of the country to raise funds for The Bridge School. Joe Lees, Mark Kinlan, Luke Thresh, Dave Sawyer and Adam Risby will cycle from Ipswich all the way to Glasgow supported by Mark and George from DrainTek who are very kindly providing all the back-up and logistics for the trip.
The ride will start on 17th June from Ipswich and will finish in Glasgow on 23rd June. All donations will be appreciated and will help towards the £30,000 needed to purchase a new minibus.
Joe’s daughter Matilda is a pupil at the school and he is keen to help Matilda, and all her friends, to be able to access the local community as part of their education.
Joe and the team will be stopping off at local special schools on the route in Lincoln, York, Durham and Glasgow.
The Bridge School is a special school for children with severe and profound learning difficulties. Many children also have a diagnosis of autism.
Being able to access the community is an essential part of the curriculum and we desperately need to replace one of our aging minibuses so the children can continue to make visits out from school.
