Return of popular Photography Festival

Ginnel Foto Fest made its debut last May as an alternative arts festival in the heart of the town’s Westgate Ward. An urban space in Clarkson Street was opened to the public to exhibit high quality photos for the benefit of the community.

The now established Ginnel Foto Community is delighted to announce this year’s Fest, which will take place on the 27th and 28th of May. The event is open to all photography professionals, enthusiasts, students as well as members of the public who are interested. Entry is free but tickets should be booked via the website, www.ginnelfotofest.co.uk

Sponsored by the Ipswich Borough Council and organised by Mike Chen, Robin Peters and James Chapman, this years activities will include various workshops and a free family portrait session. As well as a live music entertainment tent and home cooked food and drinks provided by the St. Jude’s Brewery Tavern the Foto Fest will see the winners of the two competitions and the launch of a photographic magazine.

Themed “Between Time”, the exhibition presents the works of four international photographers. Geoff Buono, Chris Matthews, Vilho Nuumbala and Kosuke Okahara bring award winning photography to Ipswich.
The organisers would like to thank Frameworkshop & Gallery and Snappy Snaps Ipswich for donating the prize money and supporting the Ginnel Foto Fest.
