Dance group on the way to World Championships

In January and February CDC Street Dance’s two competing teams came 4th place and 2nd place at the regional championships and qualified for the UDO Worlds in Glasgow in August 2017.

15 Star Troopers and 10 Backstreet Troopers as they are known are going to embark on a journey to Glasgow in August to represent the UK at the World Championships. “We also have three duos representing the UK from CDC and two solos.” says CDC’s Sophie Dilworth, “The cost of each entry for a dancer to the event is around £80 and around £60 for a spectator for the weekend’s event, we have also got to be there from Thursday until Sunday so need to pay for accommodation and expenses whilst there.”

The event and representing their country is a dream come true for these 25 dancers. They train hard every week at CDC Street Dance, developing their skills and improving techniques.

Sophie adds, “To raise money to finance the trip we are holding a disco event which is open to everybody. The disco is at The Ipswich Hotel in Copdock, it’s just £10 per family ticket, it’s a great night for all the family with a disco, food, bar, raffle, and face-painting and entertainment for just £10!”
