Take a journey with Trianon through the four nations of the United Kingdom then hop across to the USA for a hoe-down of melodies.
This UK tour includes a medley of traditional English folk songs from John Rutter’s A Sprig of Thyme together with an extract from Shakespeare’s The Tempest, masterfully put to a melodious beat by Bob Chilcott. Londonderry Air, known more fondly as Danny Boy will also be featured, along with Malcolm Arnold’s Scottish Dances. One of the highlights of the UK tour will be the beautiful Cantate Domino by Karl Jenkins, a reinterpretation of the groundbreaking Adiemus in acapella form.
The second half of the tour takes place in the USA, opening with the Fanfare for the Common Man by Aaron Copland. The Jets and the Sharks will provide an energetic interlude with a medley from Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story, before moving onto a more traditional feel with Shenandoah and Yankee Doodle. The programme finishes with a visit to the US troops during World War II from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific.
