Young BBC music star to perform in Ipswich

Sheku Kanneh-Mason, the sensational young cellist and winner of BBC Young Musician of the Year 2016, is the soloist in ISO’s concert on Saturday 25th November at Ipswich Corn Exchange.

Sheku plays the inspiring Shostakovich 1st Cello Concerto, with which he won the competition, in a Russian programme including Rachmaninov’s thrilling 2nd symphony. The concert is conducted by Adam Gatehouse.

Sheku’s international career is developing very quickly, with concerts in Europe and a US tour planned for 2018. At 18 he is already a powerful role model for young musicians so there is already much interest in this very special Ipswich event – be sure not to miss it!

Tickets are free for under 18s. www.ipswichcornexchange.com
