TMG at Snape Maltings — Remembrance & Renewal
Written by Ipswich24, 03/09/2018
The full symphony orchestra and choir of Trianon Music Group are delighted to be performing at Snape Maltings Concert Hall on Saturday 15th September at 7.30pm.
“Remembrance and Renewal” will commemorate the end of the Great War and serves as a companion programme to the highly successful and much praised 2014 concert by Trianon which marked the beginning of the conflict.
The programme will feature music from Great Britain, France, Russia and Germany including Duruflé’s Requiem, Gustav Holst’s Jupiter from The Planets suite, extracts from Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man and Requiem and Vaughan Williams’ A London Symphony. The “renewal” element of the programme will look beyond 1918 to women’s suffrage with Ethel Smyth’s The March of the Women and the dawn of the jazz age, with Shostakovich’s Tahiti Trot, better known as “Tea for Two”.
Tickets available from the Trianon ticket line on 01394 283170 or 07876 787029 or from the Snape Maltings Box Office, in person, by phone on 01728 687110 or online at www.snapemaltings.co.uk. Tickets from £14, concessions from £12 and under 16s from £7.
