Outdoor Summer theatre

Summer is the time for outdoor theatre. And this year Stuff of Dreams have come up with a couple of real crowd-pleasers. Same cast, two very different shows, both classic comedies. Touring to beautiful venues across Suffolk and Norfolk until July 14th , Stuff of Dreams will present two productions in rep. William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream will alternate with performances of Oscar Wilde’s timeless masterpiece, The Importance of Being Earnest.

Artistic Director, Cordelia Spence said: “I am so excited about our plans for Summer of 2019 as we take to the road with a revival of last year’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and a brand new production of ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’. We are returning to venues that we love and also visiting some exciting new ones, like Woodbridge School grounds, where we hope to entertain some fresh audiences.
We really do have a ‘dream cast’. These classic plays both have an enduring popularity. The opportunity to create these productions and work alongside such a great bunch of actors is very exciting for me. If anyone saw our recent production ‘An Honest Gentleman’ they will be pleased to know that Hayley Evenett and Quinn Richards will both be re-appearing in very different roles.”

Familiar faces from the cast of ‘An Honest Gentleman’ will indeed be re-appearing. Music maestro and top composer and guitarist Tim Lane will be playing the part of ‘Bottom’ in A Midsummer Night’s Dream accompanied by Hayley Evenett who has jettisoned her Lady Elizabeth Temperance Fox character in favour of mischievous ‘Puck’. Whilst Quinn Richards, known to recent audiences as dashing highwayman Thomas Easter, will be playing Lysander and Thisbe in ‘the Dream’ and the fabulously frivolous and irreverent Algernon Moncrieff in ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’.

Suffolk performances:
Sunday 7th July – Earnest – Woodbridge School Lawn at 3pm
Saturday 13th July – AMND – Nicholas Everitt Park in Lowestoft at 7pm

Norfolk performances:
