Networking for Mums in Business

A new business networking group for mothers in business has opened in Ipswich. The child-friendly group, run by the Mums in Business Association, aims to give business advice on topics such as cash-flow and attracting new customers and to provide support on the practicalities of running a business around your family.
The Mums in Business Association (MIBA) was founded by sisters Estelle Keeber and Leona Burton after they realised that there was a lack of support for mothers in business. The duo has seven children between them, and they have run several businesses.
The association has grown very quickly, and they currently have groups in Australia, Canada and all over Europe. In two short years, they have grown massively, and have over 40,000 members worldwide, which demonstrates the need.
Mothers are taking control of their economies. With spiralling childcare costs, and the lack of jobs that enable women to work flexibly, and around the school holidays, many choose to run a business to increase their income and give them a degree of independence and work-life balance.
Katherine Cresswell, a wedding & events planner, who leads the Ipswich group is excited about the opportunities that it will create. “Getting this role is such a great opportunity and I am really looking forward to helping all the great businesses run by multi tasking mums that we have in and around Ipswich” We have a fantastic Facebook group offering support, guidance and inspiration too.
Look for MIBA Networking Ipswich to join in!
The next group will meet on 30th January at 7.30pm at Riverhills, Bramford Road, Ipswich with our guest speaker Helen Oldfield from Affinity PR. There are also two spotlight sponsor prizes up for grabs as well as a showcase table for you to display any products or marketing materials. “We look forward to welcoming you to the Facebook community and our first meeting of 2020” concluded Katherine.
