Middy – In common with nearly all heritage railways, the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway has taken the decision to cancel all immediate opening days and postpone events scheduled for Spring and early Summer, due to the current Coronavirus outbreak. Latest news on the website, www.mslr.org.uk

The Martlesham Heath Control Tower Museum 2020 Summer Season, due to start on Sunday 5th April – will not now happen.

The Martlesham Heath Aviation Society, Friday 3rd April, talk on the “Early (RAF) days of R.A.F. Bentwaters” has been postponed

THE EASTER CRAFT FAYRE at The Ipswich Hotel, Copdock has been cancelled.

Free guided walks from rail stations in Suffolk have been cancelled due to the latest coronavirus advice. The East Suffolk Lines Community Rail Partnership was due to hold a guided walk on Saturday 21 March from Saxmundham to Darsham and another on Saturday 4 April from Trimley to Ipswich.

The East Anglian Game & Country Fair, due to take place at Euston Estate on Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th April 2020 will no longer be able to go ahead due to the potential risk of spreading the Coronavirus (Covid-19).

Ipswich Gang Show 2020: The organisers of the Ipswich Gang Show 2020 have, regrettably, taken the decision not to stage the 2020 Show in the light of the coronaviras. At this time we do not know what the situation will be in April. If you have already bought your tickets please contact gshow2020@outlook.com regarding refunds. We will require return of the tickets and confirmation of the amount paid or confirmation that you have not received the tickets yet. If you booked the tickets and paid for them through our website the refund will be automatic and you do not need to request this. Looking forward to welcoming everyone back in 2021.

IPSWICH BOROUGH BUILDINGS Including Theatres: Ipswich Borough Council have closed it’s buildings: A statement from IBC says
“We have closed the Regent Theatre, Corn Exchange and other public venues in line with new government advice in a bid to stop the spread of the coronavirus. We appreciate your concern about tickets and refunds but ask for your patience while we prioritise the closures and talk to promoters.
