Meals for the NHS – You can’t save the nation on an empty stomach

Meals for the NHS is a UK not for profit tech platform kicked off in under a week.

100% of all donations are going to keeping NHS workers in meals, that are not snacks from vending machines. In under 72 hours, the British public has raised over £115k.

Keeping the NHS workers healthy with balanced meals is key to ensuring they are also supported in this unprecedented crisis. The daily health and wellness of key staff will be crucial for maintaining the momentum of staff and their own health during this time.

What is needed?
There are already 27 hospitals on the waiting list and the plan is to expand this project and support hospitals across the UK. The meals will be prepared and delivered by local restaurants, also hit by this crisis. The money will go directly to these local businesses, who are preparing and delivering the food to the hospitals direct.

Speed is key to this project, so no one is left hungry while working through this crisis.

Who are the team behind it:
A small group of tech workers & entrepreneurs in London who worked at
companies like Deliveroo, Uber, Oyo, and Local Globe, determined to find a way of helping the British public connect and support frontline NHS staff from home.

As at 3pm on 27th March £115,000 had been raised in 4 days.

Donations and sponsorship! On average a meal cost is £5. Therefore £500 will feed up to 100 hungry (and amazing) hospital staff. The waiting list is already over 5,000 daily meals to deliver across 27 hospitals. We need to raise as much money as possible to provide more meals for more hospitals www.mealsforthenhs.com
