Second Helpings for dinnerladies


If you missed the recent performances of dinnerladies at The New Wolsey, do not dispear….. They’re back! The catering staff of BBC TV’s hit sitcom return to the Mercury Theatre, Colchester for second helpings from Monday 20th to Saturday 25th June following last year’s hugely successful World Premiere of dinnerladies.

This new production features many of the same talented cast from last year who are ready to entertain you with some of Victoria Wood’s best comedy writing. Andrew Dunn and Sue Devaney from the original TV series as Tony and Jane are joined by Bren, Dolly, Jean, Twinkle and Anita together with caretaker Stan, Phillippa from Human Resources and Petula, Bren’s dreadful mother to bring you some hilarious adventures from the staff canteen of HWD Electronics.

As well as dinnerladies, Andrew Dunn has appeared in numerous television series including The Bill, Heartbeat and Coronation Street where he played Roger Stiles, a plumber and new love interest for Janice Battersby. Other TV includes Doctors, Casualty, Blue Murder, Mr Right, Brief Encounters, The Street, Dalziel and Pascoe, Midsomer Murders, Holby City and Dr Who. He also appeared in the feature film Ali G Indahouse and played Alistair Campbell in Rory Bremner’s Beneath Iraq and a Hard Place.

Sue Devaney has played a number of roles on British TV, appearing in Coronation Street, Casualty and Shameless as well as Jane from the planning department in the original TV series of dinnerladies.
