Step aboard Nao Santa Maria in Ipswich

The Nao Santa María will make her first visit to Ipswich this week, docking at Orwell Quay. The ship will be open to visitors from 3 to 7 September. Among her creaking timbers, the Nao Santa María tells the story of Christopher Columbus’ discovery of the Americas.

Ipswich is one of the English ports welcoming the ship after more than three years in the United States, where she opened her decks to the public in cities including New York, Miami, and Puerto Rico. Visitors will be able to step aboard and experience how the adventurers of the past sailed and lived.

The ship will be open daily from 3rd to 7th September, between 10am and 8pm, non-stop. Due to the strong interest expected, advance ticket purchase is recommended to avoid queues: tickets.naosantamaria.org.
