Easter at Sutton Hoo

Travel back in time this Easter with a family trip to Sutton Hoo. Pick up an Easter trail when you get there, put on your bunny ears and explore the ten-point trail.

Challenge friends and family to an egg and spoon race, test your wingspan and hop like a hare, rabbit, lamb or fox as you discover more about the fascinating nature that lives at Sutton Hoo! Once you’ve completed the trail, head back to Visitor Welcome for a dairy or vegan and Free From chocolate egg.

While you’re there, go for a walk to enjoy peaceful spring views from around the estate, then climb to the top of the viewing tower for a bird’s eye view of the Royal Burial Ground, the final resting place of an important Anglo-Saxon king.

Head indoors to dress up like a warrior or a king and find out what it’s really like to be an archaeologist on the eve of a discovery, before heading to the adventure playground to blow off some steam. Both cafes will be open every day throughout the school holidays, as well as our gift shop and second-hand bookshop.

Normal admission applies, free for National Trust members.
