ISO June Concert
The Ipswich Symphony Orchestra performs favourite works by Bruch, Brahms and Prokofiev at Ipswich Corn Exchange on Saturday 20th June.
The Concerto by Max Bruch is one of the most popular works for violin. We are delighted to welcome the return to Ipswich of our soloist, Benjamin Baker, who was born in New Zealand, later studying at the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Royal College of Music. He now enjoys a flourishing international career in Europe, America and the Far East, and is a hugely popular performer in his native country where he has developed and remains creative director of the At the World’s End Festival.
The concert, conducted by Adam Gatehouse, opens with Prokofiev’s tuneful mini-symphony in classical style and concludes with Brahms’ dramatic 1st Symphony.
