World premiere of musical set for Ipswich


The full cast for the world premiere of “An Officer and a Gentleman – the Musical” has been announced – the show comes to Ipswich’s Regent Theatre this summer as part of the UK tour.

Emma Williams will play Paula, Jonny Fines is Zack, Ray Shell takes the role of Foley, Ian McIntosh is Sid and Jessica Daley plays Lynette.

The tour opens in April and comes to Ipswich from Monday 27th August to Saturday 1st September. We can’t wait!

Let’s find out a bit more about the stars …

Emma Williams is a four-time Laurence Olivier Award-nominated actress who has played in “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”, “Mrs Henderson Presents” and “Love Story”, all in the West End.

Jonny Fines takes the role made famous in the film by Richard Gere. He most recently played the role of Rooster in the West End production of “Annie” at The Piccadilly Theatre. Other theatre credits include the UK tours of “The Sound of Music” and “Avenue Q”.

Ray Shell is probably most famous for creating the roles of Rusty in “Starlight Express” and Nomax in “Five Guys Named Moe”. His other theatre credits include the iconic productions of “Miss Saigon” and “Jesus Christ Superstar”.

Ian McIntosh is an Olivier-nominated actor for his role in the West End production of “Beautiful – The Carole King Musical” and his other credits include “The Commitments” and “Rock of Ages”.

Jessica Daley was a finalist on the BBC 1’s “Over The Rainbow” and previous theatre credits include “Mamma Mia!” In the West End and the UK tour of “The Sound of Music”.
