Get ready for a long weekend of fun and discovery as you spot the signs of spring, and experience nature bursting into life at the special places the National Trust looks after. 

From creating wild art to waddling like a duckling, the trails have been designed to tickle the senses and immerse little ones in the natural world. 

And of course, each National Trust Easter adventure in nature trail ends with a chocolate egg, made here in the UK using cocoa responsibly sourced from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms.

SUFFOLK

Dunwich Heath and Beach, Suffolk 

Easter adventure in nature trail, 15–18 April

Tucked away on the Suffolk coast, Dunwich Heath offers you peace and quiet and a true sense of being at one with nature. A rare and precious habitat, the Heath is home to special species such as the Dartford warbler, nightjar, woodlark, ant-lion, adders and much more. This Easter families can get closer to some of these species on the nature inspired Easter trail.

Flatford, Suffolk

Easter adventure in nature trail, 9 – 18 April
Follow the trail and step into spring with lots of fun activities at Flatford. Hop to it, be an eagle eye and make a grass trumpet as you explore all that nature has to offer this Easter. The landscape of the Dedham Vale is at its most beautiful in spring. Enchanting paths lead along quiet lanes and beside the lazy river Stour, giving stunning views of the landscape that inspired John Constable. Enjoy the bright daffodils near Willy Lott’s House, tulips by Bridge Cottage in early spring and in May, bluebells in Orvis Wood create a magic carpet between the trees.

Ickworth, Suffolk 

Easter adventure in nature trail, 9–24 April
Ickworth is an Italianate Palace in the heart of an ancient deer park. Formal gardens, pleasure grounds, rolling Suffolk landscape and woodlands invite gentle strolls or long walks, runs, bike rides and picnics. The Italianate Garden with its pink magnolias mirrors the architecture of the house, whilst also encasing a magical Victorian stumpery, contrasting light and shade as well as a secret dragon. This spring get closer to Ickworth’s nature and explore the wildlife, colours and smells across the estate on the Easter adventure in nature trail. Lavenham Guildhall, Suffolk
Easter adventure in nature trail, 9 – 18 April

Lavenham is a village full of colourful and crooked houses, which also featured as Godric’s Hollow in the Harry Potter films. As well as the wonkiest house in Britain and some rather special timber framed buildings, our Easter trail will take you around the village where you’ll also be able to enjoy nature inspired activities along the way.

Melford Hall, Suffolk

Easter adventure in nature trail, 13 – 18 and 20 – 24 April
Join the Easter trail at Melford Hall and make a rainbow from nature, hide like a mouse and search for shades of green whilst exploring the gardens for signs of spring. Beatrix Potter, best known for her children’s books featuring animals, was a regular visitor to Melford Hall and was inspired by its surroundings. Why not let your little one’s imagination run wild in nature too this Easter?

Sutton Hoo, Suffolk
Easter adventure in nature trail, 9 – 24 April
Explore the wonder of the Sutton Hoo landscape with new life everywhere you look this spring. From rare breed lambs taking their first steps, daffodils bringing bursts of sunny yellow and a woodland coming to life with new leaves and birdsong. Enjoy this as your backdrop as you create a wild animal, get to know a tree and be an eagle eye, just some of the activities you can experience at Sutton Hoo, as part of the Easter trail this year.

Orford Ness, SuffolkEaster adventure in nature trail, 15 – 18 and 23 – 24 AprilJoin us for an Easter adventure in nature with a difference at Orford Ness. After a trip on our boat Octavian discover our family-friendly trail and explore this unique coastal landscape with fun activities for you to do along the way.
