Theatre in the Forest 2026
Suffolk’s biggest and best loved outdoor theatre event, Theatre in the Forest, returns this summer to the National Trust’s Sutton Hoo with a beautiful production of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night!
Red Rose Chain’s Theatre in the Forest event is known for bringing together audiences of all ages under the stars for inventive, fun and whacky productions of Shakespeare’s greatest plays!
This year, Red Rose Chain are pulling out all the stops, with this hilarious comedy of misunderstanding and mistaken identity! The production is in memory of Red Rose Chain’s Artistic Director, Joanna Carrick, who died earlier this year, using her unique Theatre in the Forest style.
Katy Latham and David Newborn will be directing a cast full of Red Rose Chain favourites, with Vincent Moisy (Hamlet, The Ungodly), Georgia Redgrave (Alice in Wonderland, Hamlet), Darren Latham (The Wind in the Willows, Macbeth), Emily Jane Kerr (Hamlet, The Tale of Mr Tod), Joseph Russell, (Alice in Wonderland, Hamlet) and Theatre in the Forest newcomers Alec Murray (Alice in Wonderland) and Nadia Jackson (The Ungodly)!
The shows are renowned for their use of puppetry, and this year Red Rose Chain are working with the amazing puppet designer Maia Kirkman-Richards to create a brand new puppet for the show… Get your tickets now to find out more!
Sutton Hoo is the perfect backdrop for a magical evening of Shakespeare under the stars! The pop-up theatre has a range of seating options including on ground camping chair areas and wheelchair accessible spaces.
