Warning over cold-caller fraud at Kesgrave
Officers are urging the public to be vigilant after a report of a cold caller fraudulently taking money from an elderly man in Kesgrave.
The incident took place on Thursday 4th May at around 12:00pm midday on Bell Lane. The victim, a man in his 80’s, was on his drive when he was approached by a man who offered to carry out some work on his car. The suspect then drove the victim to a cashpoint to withdraw a sum of money in advance of the work taking place. The offender took the money but did not return.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s, overweight with fair/grey balding hair and was wearing a black tracksuit.
Witnesses or anyone who has had a similar approach recently should contact Suffolk police, quoting crime number 37/26260/23.
